It is a pale creamy grey with a hint of lilac, and just pale enough for me to call it white. Look at my pics instead natural daylight, no filter, no artistic stunts with camera settings. Watching different pics online will seriously confuse you: I’ve seen anything from icey white to cream beige, via steel grey. I think Essie tries to call it a “grey lilac”, fair enough, but there’s also some cream/ivory in there. Oh how I love soft tinted whites like this one. Please leave a comment if you have a question or a suggestion for a possible dupe. I’d say Worth The Wait and Got Engaged were the closest ones, but no way near dupes. So, surprisingly enough, I didn’t find anything quite like Spool Me Over in my collection of regular Essie’s. Perennial Chic and High Class Affair are both far more tan/nude toned. I expected A Crewed Interest to be closer, but it’s actually a bright neon peach compared to Spool Me Over. Perennial Chic – Spool Me Over – A Crewed Interest – High Class Affair. Photo below should show the difference quite clearly. Worth The Wait and Got Engaged are more tan/nude than Spool Me Over, while Like To Be Bad is a cooler toned pink. Especially Worth The Wait, it has a deep, subtle, pearly shimmer. Also, all the other three have a hint of shimmer/glitter. They came very close! Still different formulas Spool Me Over is the only one that’s completely opaque. Worth The Wait, Spool Me Over, Got Engaged, Like To Be Bad. Spool Me Over doesn’t have the BEST formula – it takes three coats and a good base coat to avoid streaks, and the first two times I tried it, I got bubbles on like every nail! Luckily it went much better this time, don’t know what went so wrong before. The formula is the biggest difference though. Coming Together and Spaghetti Strap are cooler tones of pink, while Steal His Name has a little more red/peach in it. All of them have three coats, and Fill The Gap as base coat (this applies to all of the polishes swatched in this post).Ĭompared to the other three, Spool Me Over almost looks like a peachy nude. Pointer to pinky: Coming Together, Spool Me Over, Steal His Name, Spaghetti Strap.Īs you can see in the photo above, Spool Me Over is an opaque creme and the other three are jelly. After I finish this post I’ll post the photos on my comparison Instagram account as well. The colors look a bit washed out and weird on my computer, so I don’t know how they will look to you. My cutcicles + nails look like Arnolds hair and hat.īut! Some of the colors are seriously stunning! Today I have compared Spool Me Over, a “creamy apricot pink”, to the closest ones I had in my collection. Personally I find it hard to work with, probably because I have quite narrow nails and a curved cuticle line, and worst of all, cuticles that kinda fold around the edges of the nail. Weird bottle, twisted brush handle and a wide brush that most people love.
